Explanation of the Master Table of Sidereal Time
Table A
This table gives the Sidereal Time for each day at Greenwich Mean Noon.
Table B
The columns under Table B give the Sidereal Time for Greenwich Mean Noon, on January 1st, from 1800 to 2000.
To find the Sidereal Time at Noon, for any place, for any day, of any year, take the difference between the Sidereal Time for January 1st, in Table A, and January 1st of the year of the date sought, found in Table B. Then add this to, or subtract from, as the case may be, the Sidereal Time for the day sought. After February 28th, in a Leap Year, take the next day to the one sought, in Table A. Thus, for March 7th, 1896, in Table A, take March 8th, and correct by the difference between January 1st 1896 in Table B and January 1st in Table A. Leap Years are marked with an asterisk (*). Note that 1800 and 1900 are not Leap Years. Sidereal Time increases at the rate of, approximately, 10 seconds per hour.
